Rihanna Faces Another "S&M" Lawsuit

Apparently imitation isn't always the highest form of flattery...not in Rihanna's case anyway. The singer is facing yet another lawsuit due to copyright infringement over her S&M music video. This time it's photographer Phillip Paulus that's suing that star claiming that she identically replicated his series of photographs, called Paperworld, in the video without his permission. One section of the video shows Rihanna dressed in a large, fluffy gown against a wall, covered in plastic and surrounded by black 'X' marks. Paulus claims that this idea is extremely similar to one of his photographs and he wants justice. Paulus' lawyer states that "For legitimate reasons the use of copying Paulus' work over a million times requires an agreement that protects the copyright and the achievements and creations of our client which has never been given by our client, neither to the artist Rihanna nor to her label Universal Music." Naughty, naughty Rihanna...it isn't nice to take things that aren't yours.

Paulus issued his own personal statement about the issue saying, "Why a worldwide celebrity is not able to afford a creative director, who creates individual concepts and stagings, is incomprehensible for me," and adds, "...Every other creative professional should realize how supremely embarrassing it is to copy the work of colleagues from the artistic world and then to be praised for it." This is the second time this year that Rihanna's S&M video is facing lawsuit charges -- photographer David LaChapelle sued the singer in February. We still have 6 more months of this year left, so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a third or fourth lawsuit pop up at some point by the year's end. I think only one word can sum up the way we feel about your actions Rihanna
