The Optima Hybrid has yet to be rated by the EPA, though it is expected that fuel mileage wise people can expect to get around 35 or 40 miles per gallon, which is decent considering that this is a nice size car.
With this being known, most people are eager to see just how does the Optima Hybrid drive? The main thing that people are pointing out is that the car is a bit slow on the get up, which is to be expected when the car is being powered by batteries from the beginning of a drive. And it has been noted that the acceleration remains constant throughout a test drive, despite the fact that most people can hear the difference between the motor during times in which the person is driving, it doesn't seem to be having an effect on the drive ability though.
As far as handling goes, the car is what people are going to expect from an Optima, with quick steering and tight turns being able to be handled with ease. It is those things that set the car a step above the rest of the other hybrid's that are out there. The only downfall that most people are pointing out is the fact that the trunk is not as big to accommodate for the batteries.
So is this hybrid worth considering for those that may be interested in buying one of these? Most people are going to point out that the price tag at around $27,000 is coming in way below the other hybrid's that are out there, thus in this respect, the person should consider the Optima Hybrid.
They are also going to find that the styling of the Optima Hybrid is very impressive and you are not going to be able to tell just from looking that you are indeed driving a hybrid car. For those that are serious about getting more mileage per fill up, then they should consider the Optima Hybrid as one of those cars out there to get. The extra price for the Optima is going to pay off in the end with the gas mileage that you are getting.
