Emma Watson Puts A Hold On University Plans

Emma Watson, the young star of the Harry Potter films, has made the decision to take time out from university in order to focus on her numerous “other commitments”

The young star, who plays Harry’s best friend Hermione Granger in the hit movies, sent out a message to her fans on her fan page on Monday to say that she will be taking some time off from her degree course at Brown University. It is thought that the young actress is taking time out to finish the final Harry Potter films.

The final chapter of the film of JK Rowling’s popular books is entitled “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” and will be hitting screens worldwide this coming July.

Miss Watson’s statement read: “I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible”

She wrote that as well as finishing off the final Potter movie she is also taking time off to focus on her other professional and acting projects. She added that she will “still be working towards my degree…it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought.”

Watson took this opportunity to thank her fans for their “continuing support” during this time.

It is hard to believe that the British actress only turns 21 next month as she has managed to squeeze so much into such a short of time. Miss Watson enrolled at Brown University back in September 2009 and is currently studying for a four-year degree course.

Watson has been on our screens playing the brainy Hermoine since the first Harry Potter movie back in 2001.
